R&D at Ceridian is a group of close-knit, cross-functional teams of Developers,
QA Analysts, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Test Engineers. Our Payroll
team in Europe (primarily based in Glasgow) plays a vital part in our
expansion, building and implementing regionally specific Dayforce solutions,
one country at a time. At R&D, we are excited to start work on the new
modernisation of Dayforce built with the latest in cloud, microservices, and
Microsoft technologies, introducing automation, increased flexibility, and
responsiveness and further capitalising on AI.
Reporting to the Development Manager, we have an opportunity for a Test
Engineer; a coder who is primarily responsible for creating automated tests and
improving code testability. You will write automated tests and work closely
with our QA analyst and Developers to determine if the software is ready for
production. You will have the rewarding opportunity to grow your hands-on
skills as part of the Agile team, augmenting both new products and features as
well as existing solutions and services.
You are a Test Engineer with hands-on automation development experience,
including SQL and working as a part of an Agile team. You thrive in a
collaborative role where you can work with a team to identify which areas of
the application to focus automation efforts and increase code coverage. You are
passionate about solving customer problems with complex technology that is easy
to use, and you want to join a global organisation that operates like a scale-
up: responsively, rapidly, and with agility.

* Create, continuously improve, collaborate, and communicate.You will work
closely with your Scrum team, actively participate in the continuous
improvements of applications by developing stable, maintainable, and
reliable automated tests for the continuous improvement of applications.
You will analyse automated test results and improve automated test
coverage to maintain product quality. You will become a product expert in
all functional and technical areas, learning new methodologies and tools
to improve the automated testing processes. You will actively contribute
to scrum meetings, sprints, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
* The experience. You have progressive experience in developing SaaS and
cloud-based applications, ideally for enterprise clients. You have an
interest in Human Capital Management, specifically Payroll.
* The technical skills. You have programming experience in a modern object-
oriented language (e.g., C#, Java, C++), strong SQL skills, writing
maintainable code and creating automated test scripts for tools such as
FitNesse and Jmeter. Ideally, you have exposure to performance testing,
and using SpecFlow.
* The Agile approach.You have expertise following an Agile Scrum
methodology and experience across all facets of the software development
* The interpersonal skills.You can confidently build networks and nurture
relationships within teams, peers, clients, and senior leadership. You
have outstanding communication, collaboration, and prioritisation skills.
You can pivot to respond to needs, and work through ambiguity.
