The Houses of Parliament Restoration and Renewal Programme has been established to tackle the significant work that needs to be done to protect and preserve the heritage of the Palace of Westminster and ensure it can continue to serve as the home to the UK Parliament in the 21st century. This is an enormous and unprecented undertaking, which is expected to be the most complex renovation programme of any single building the UK has ever seen.
The work will be carried out under a two-tier governance system with a Sponsor Body and a Delivery Authority. Under this structure, the Sponsor Body will be the single client accountable to Parliament. The role of the Delivery Authority is to deliver the Programme to the scope, budget and timescale set down by and agreed with the Sponsor Board.

The Sustainability Manager will play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of the Programme’s sustainability vision and objectives and share their expertise with workstreams across the programme. They will work closely with the Head of Sustainability, within the Design Management function to deliver specific technical outcomes as required by the programme.
To be successful in the role you will have a University degree and/or postgraduate qualification in sustainability or related discipline and be a Member/Associate of an appropriate professional institution.
You will have significant working knowledge of social, economic and environmental sustainability management and delivery systems in design, construction and the built environment and gained experience within professional practice working for a large organisation or large-scale complex project(s).
You will be a confident communicator and be used to working in a collaborative environment with a wide variety of stakeholders. You will have good organisational, project management skills, with the ability to analyse information and identify key issues and options regarding delivering sustainability.
Salary Circa 43,000 + competitive benefits package
