Working as part of our HR, people team, your role is to drive the people services team performance by delivering an exceptional customer service to all customers and stakeholders, always striving to be the best and setting the benchmark for others to follow.
As our people services lead, you will ensure the team has the customer at the front and centre of everything we do. You will be passionate about producing a high-quality, customer-focused approach in the delivery of all transactional HR-related activities in the employee lifecycle. You will challenge your team to create and maintain a right-first-time attitude; making sure we understand and meet all of our customers’ needs and expectations.
You will produce regular KPI reports, monitoring activity to ensure we are meeting targets and removing any blockers or barriers. You will maintain and embed a continuous improvement approach throughout the team, feeding these back for training needs and process improvement. Look to provide greater efficiency in the services we offer through automation and streamlining processes, providing cost and time savings to the business without compromising on quality.
A background in coaching will help you inspire and lead your team. You will develop your colleagues by looking for suitable training opportunities to improve services and colleague engagement, as well as individual career progression. You should ensure your team provides outstanding, proactive support to the people team and other teams, and that they are agile and resilient to suitably manage the changing demands. You will work with the people team to ensure our approach is consistent, working towards greater efficiencies with teams across the business such as finance, facilities and reward.
We are looking for a systems and data guru. You will ensure the reliability of all data within our HR systems is 100% accurate, and as the guardians of the data, ensure the accuracy of all record-keeping and personal files, in line with GDPR. You will be responsible for the people management system, ensuring that our systems and data specialists have access to the right tools and training to do their job effectively. And you will work with the HR operations manager to develop and deliver policies and procedures, ensuring they are reviewed regularly and are up to date in line with current legislation.
Your office base will be in Wolverhampton (WV10) however travel across our geography will be essential
We want you to be somebody who can bring:
Educated to degree level or with equivalent practical experience
CIPD qualification (desirable) foundation or intermediate, or working towards
Demonstrable experience of being an expert on technical areas of HR operation and administration
Proven experience 2-3 years of working in a successful team leader role
Previous and, or current experience of managing technical and functional HR experts within a shared service, transactional or operational HR function
Experience of working in a shared service environment
Previous experience of working within SLAs and KPIs and able to show consistent, proven high-performance in teams
Proven ability to drive, motivate and engage colleagues to meet team goals consistently
Excellent HR payroll systems knowledge gained through significant previous experience
A can-do, positive attitude, with excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
Experience of HR Systems such as Ciphr, Talent, Peoplesoft, Workday, Payroll systems, or similar
Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft systems including Word, Outlook and Excel
Employment legislation and best practice knowledge, proactive awareness of upcoming legislative changes and its implications
Planning and organising skills, able to prioritise work effectively to meet deadlines
Excellent problem-solving skills
Able to make decisions and take ownership of activities with good judgement skills
Ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential material
A very high degree of accuracy and attention to detail with a fast turnaround
