Halliwell Homes are looking for a Senior Therapeutic Parent (Children's Residential Senior Support Worker) to join the team based in Stoke on Trent. Full Time and Part Time, Permanent, Shift work. Working on a rolling rota you will work at least 40 hours per week (includes rota shifts, sleep ins, and Restorative Parenting related duties). Sleep in shifts paid at contractual hourly rate of pay. You will not be required to sleep in on every shift. You will be paid an extra 7 hours per week which will coincide with Learning and Development and Continuing Professional Development
Salary: £23,934 up to £26,857, dependent on experience and qualifications
In pursuit of Halliwell’s mission to improve the psychological wellbeing of children in the looked after sector and due to the recent success of the Restorative Parenting® programme we are opening therapeutic homes with onsite schools in the Stoke-on-Trent area from this summer.
Halliwell Homes is a leading provider of trauma informed, residential therapeutic care to children aged between five and twelve years old who have complex emotional and behavioural needs.
Responsibilities of our Senior Therapeutic Parent (Children's Residential Senior Support Worker) include:
You will be re-parenting children aged between 4 and 12 years who have suffered from trauma in their lives. You will be supporting and caring for children who can display complex and challenging behaviours in our therapeutic residential care home by meeting their social, emotional, cultural and educational needs. Delivering Halliwell’s Restorative Parenting® recovery programme tailored to the individual needs of the child.
You will lead and plan shifts ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all times. A therapeutic, safe, healthy and homely environment will need to be in place at all times to meet Ofsted’s Quality Standards. You need to be passionate about delivering real psychological recovery for children within the looked after system.
Skills and experience require by our Senior Therapeutic Parent (Children's Residential Senior Support Worker):
You must hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or relevant qualification and possess at least six month years’ experience working with children or young people in a residential setting. Ideally, a graduate with a relevant degree e.g. Psychology with a willingness to become qualified to a minimum of Level 5 in a relevant subject and keen to study up to a post-graduate level. You need to be passionate about delivering real psychological recovery for children within the looked after system.
