We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to work within the Systems Trials and Integration delivery team, this job requires the applicant to take an active role in supporting System Trials activities to ensure that Leonardo can fully support all aspects of System level integration development to full System Test and Flight Trials. This will involve the integration and subsequent test of the Systems in a Rooflab environment and active support to Typhoon Flight Trials at BAE Warton. This is a challenging role which provides an opportunity to excel in a high profile Programme.

Key Responsibility Areas
The successful candidate will be required to undertake support of the various facets of the existing Systems Integration process then progressing to detailed integration tests on the CAPTOR E Radar system involving the active participation of detailed test procedures. A prerequisite of the role is to closely work with other engineers from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds in the resolution of complex problems. A high degree of familiarity with a broad range of software tools, test equipment, lab and project specific processes and procedures is required. The role requires the proactive attendance at a variety of project specific meetings and the ability to provide succinct and accurate status reports whilst following up and responding promptly to actions that may be placed.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
A systematic and tenacious approach to problem solving is absolutely essential as is an enthusiasm for the acquisition of knowledge from a diverse spectrum of sources. The successful candidate must have a very high degree of interpersonal skills and the ability to present reasoned arguments in a robust and professional fashion. Organisational skills along with the flexibility to deal with the constant change that characterises the development of complex systems is absolutely essential.
This role features a combination of lab and office based work. Display screen usage will be a constant feature and there is likely to be a requirement to support shift work at times. Due to the nature of lab-based work, and the associated Health and Safety issues, there will be a requirement to adhere to local working procedures and to attend any training courses that are required by those procedures. Due to the multi-national nature of the programme, there will be a need for regular off-site visits and possible foreign travel
