What will you be doing?
You’ll be joining our business as a key member of the supervisory team as your role will cover night shifts between 00:00 and 08:30am but a degree of flexibilty is required. You will support your Depot by ensuring the smooth running of your shift. The Night Shift Supervisor is responsible for the performance of the operation and ensuring the transition between shifts is managed. This is a varied role where you’ll proactively seek ways to improve cost, service & operational efficiency.
You will motivate your people, problem solving on a day to day basis and operationally as well as being the first initial point of contact to resolve any issues on your shift including return to work interviews, first stage disciplinary and grievance investigations. But the main focus of our Night Shift Supervisor is to develop and upskill your team. Each Depot has challenges but you’ll have an experienced central team, Senior Managers as well as peer mentorship to lean on; this team will enable you to meet your potential and grow your experience.
This position is ideal for someone who wants to make a difference and be accountable for positive change whilst building on your current experience in logistics.
Our Night Shift Supervisor role is for someone who can motivate staff and is able to efficiently work under pressure. You must be able to work in a team and take the lead on projects amongst your peers.
What skills and experience do you need?
Ideally you will have experience within delivery and warehouse logistics and be used to working in a fast paced environment, either at a Supervisor or Team Leader level.
As you will be overseeing night shifts, a keen eye for detail and ability to organise and prioritise is essential for this role.
Hermes take the health and safety of colleagues as their highest priority, so previous experience of understanding Health and Safety guidelines and compliance will also be required.
You will also have the ability to understand and produce Management Information, Excel spreadsheets and demonstrate knowledge of cost control, data reports and KPI metrics.
