Male Support Worker
Salary: £10.20 per hour
Location: Penn Hill, Poole
Hours per week: 35 hours per week (12 hour shifts), plus Sleep Ins (£60 additional flat rate)
Experiene or knowledge in Autism or hearing loss is preferred, however not essential.
About the role (written by the Person you will be supporting)
I am 19 years old living in Penn Hill, Poole. I am diagnosed with having Autism, ADHD, Hearing Loss (I have bi-lateral hearing implants), and I have Emotional Regulation Difficulties. I would like a male support worker who is funny, hardworking, helpful, flexible, has a good healthy mindset, a creative thinker and somone who loves to laugh and has a good sense of humour. I would like my support worker to help encourage my independent life skills, help me to manage my emotions, support me with making friendships, managing my money, supporting me to safely take my medication, and someone who will be a good role model for me. When I get anxious or bored, I can express behaviours that challengeand sometimes i will react to try and get a reaction from you. I can become hyper and hightened in my emotions will i struggle to regulate so i will need my support worker to help me manage this. I really enjoy; cars, martial arts, playing on my xbox/playstation, watching films and playing pool or darts. I need a support worker who is going to take a genuine interest in my hobbies.

We are a not for profit and social enterprise support provider for adults and young adults who have learning disabilities and/or autism. We support people to live in their own homes, with their own tenancies and our model of support is a practice called Positive Behaviour Support. Our CEO Jonathan Beebee is a registered Learning Disabilities Nurse and qualified Behaviour Analyst. We are a medium-sized organisation supporting 35 people across Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire and Oxfordshire and with a workforce of just over 200.
As an Enablement Assistant you will have the support of a team of people dedicated to supporting that person. You will also be able to access support from the Enablement Leader, the Enablement Manager, and the Positive Behaviour Support Clinician who provide you and the team with management and leadership. Your shift pattern may consist of day shifts, waking nights and sleeps.
