We are looking for a Driver / Cook to join us at our Westbrook House service in Hemel Hempstead, where we support up to 8 individuals with physical and learning disabilities. We are providing individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to lead as ordinary life as they can achieve.
Working Monday to Friday, 9am – 4.30pm you will be responsible for driving the Service Users to various activities, day centres and appointments using the service minibus.
You will also be required to support Service Users and other staff members with cooking.
Due to the nature of this role and for insurance purposes, candidates must be a minimum of 21 years’ old and have held a driving licence for at least 2 years’ to include a D1 Category.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Prepare food ranging from light snacks and refreshments to breakfast and standard meals
* Assist in the smooth running of the kitchen
* Maintain quality hygiene standards within the production areas at all times
* Ensure that meals are prepared on time and to the highest standards
* Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination
* Undertake the ordering and supply of food and selected non-consumables required
* Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
* Responsible for driving Service Users to various activities, day centres and appointments.
