As a Desktop Support Engineer in the BidFX Infrastructure Team, you will be
responsible for supporting BidFX s global desktop environment, which is a
typical blend of Microsoft and some supplementary systems from other providers.
BidFX runs modern desktop solutions and cloud-based services for its staff who
support a globally distributed, high-available, cloud-hosted SAAS platform
which processes 5 billion messages per day. You will have the opportunity to
help shape the future success of BidFX s mission-critical corporate IT
services function in this fast growing fintech.
You will interface with all levels of the business and have a global
responsibility (UK, US, Asia). You will excel in an internal support role and
be able to troubleshoot issues and handle incident escalations (sometimes out-
of-hours) while promoting production change management processes and
You will have at least 5 years experience in a Windows desktop support rol
and, more recently, modern cloud technology.
You will be enthusiastic, organised and adaptable; a quick learner, who is able
to adopt new technology with ease. You will have self-confidence, good
interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to integrate seamlessly

You will be responsible for managing a variety of operating systems, tools,

* Exchange and Outlook
* Enterprise Anti-Virus, Spyware and Encryption Applications, DLP, Email
Secure Gateways and website filtering
* Microsoft PowerShell
* Remote access technology and multi factor authentication
* IIS and Certificate management
* Working technical knowledge of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
* General cloud office SaaS solutions
* Desktops, laptops, servers and printers, Android and iPhone
* Systems patching
* Joiners, Movers, Leavers processes
* Computer and software asset and licence tracking
* User ID and application access control
* Incident management ticketing system (e.g. JIRA)
Experience in or knowledge of any of the following would also be an advantage:
* MCSE, MCSA or any relevant Windows Server Certifications
* Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
* System Centre Configuration Management (SCCM)
* Microsoft Azure WVD
* Google G-Suite
* Active Directory Configuration and management
* Group and Network Policy configuration
* Apple MacBook
* Supporting platforms for Java applications
Experience of working in the financial sector could also be beneficial.
