Generation launched globally in 2015, and has grown quickly to become the
world s largest demand-led employment initiative. We have placed over 30,00
people into roles (many of whom have suffered some form of adversity), working
with over 2,000 employer partners to date across 10 countries and 26
Generation UK&I is currently running training to employment programs in London,
Manchester and the West Midlands. Recent funding wins mean we are also
expanding operations to Dublin and Leeds. We run a range of tech programmes
with partners including Amazon Web Services, Whitehat and Infinity Works, as
well as programmes supporting people into healthcare and customer service

ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Data & Operations manager you ll sit at the heart of Generation UK&I
working alongside the Chief Operating Officer, Lewis, in the Central team.
Owning our data, you ll lead the data collection, systems and processes whi
ultimately enable us to quantify the impact of all that we do, and show us
where we need to do better.
Owning our process, you ll be identifying the game-changing initiatives tha
will drive efficiency and enable us to scale our operations to support over
1000 people in 2021 – and then you ll be the one to flesh these out and put
them into action.
You re a highly organised and self motivated professional, able to manage
multiple projects whilst always staying focussed on your overarching goals.

* Be the guru of our data tools – Work with the Global Data team to ensure
Generation UK s use of Salesforce, PowerBI and Gendata (our in-house
data tool) follows best practice and complies with the requirements of
both the global and the local team
* Define what data we collect – Ensure we re collecting the right data.
The data that enables us to know when we ve succeeded, and where we
need to improve – from serving the right beneficiary profile, to tracking
internal efficiency, to spotting trends in our job placements.
* Make our data collection easy and watertight – Work with regional teams
to set up scalable, consistent data collection that works without you
even being there.
* Make our funder reporting easy – Each of our funders require a different
cut of our data – work with the Global Data Team to set up systems and
dashboards that make this happen with the click of a button on Salesforce
* Turn our data into actions – Analyse the data we collect, and turn this
into practical next steps to improve the team s performance.
* Hold the whole data picture together – Spearhead all data-related
activity at Generation UK&I – the systems, the collection processes, the
analysis; maintain a data roadmap which clearly charts the
organisation s data priorities
* Spot where we need to scale – Work alongside the COO to identify, scope
and deliver projects which will enable Generation s operations to
scale. Here are some examples of the types of challenges you might tackle
o How can we mobilise volunteers to reduce internal team time spent
o How can we automate the provision of stipends to our learners?
o What systems should we put in place to increase the number of
female participants on our tech programmes?
* Get the team on-side – Work with the wider team to roll out these new
processes; track them against clear KPIs, and iterate as necessary
* Leverage the Generation Global team – Work with the Generation Global
team to understand global best practice for youth outreach, programme
recruitment and programme delivery, and apply global learnings to our
* Integrity, positive attitude, and self-directed with demonstrated passion
for Generation’s mission
* Minimum of 3 years total work experience
* Experience working with complex data sets; strong Excel skills, with
experience using PowerBI / Salesforce / similar data analysis tools
* Experience managing stakeholder relationships negotiating with external
vendors and enforcing governance with implementation partners
* Experience of starting / scaling an organisation or programme, including
creating or adapting existing processes, especially ones which are tech-
