We are looking for an experienced Configuration Manager to join our growing team in Bristol. What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for Configuration Management process and the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This is a central role that supports the full ITIL process flow, which includes an extensive range of services and stakeholders, in a fast-paced challenging environment. We are looking for creative thinkers who have a passion for applying technology to solve real world problems and developing our next generation of world beating products and services.
Develop and maintain Configuration processes such as:
Classifying a configuration item type into a role supporting a service or system.
Adding or importing new configuration items to the system and mapping configuration items to inventory items.
Defining maintenance schedules for configuration items.
Creating service maps (relationships that link different services) in support of a service level agreement.
Provide direction and governance of business processes; ensure designated programme (s) are operating to the desired and documented levels of control and discipline.
Leading the application of Configuration measures within projects, including Planning, Identification, Configuration Management, Status Accounting and Auditing.
Defining strong relationships with designated programme stakeholders (Head of Engineering, Head of Services and System Design Authority, to successfully promote and demonstrate the value and importance of Configuration Management.
Ensure best industry practice is followed and ISO 9001, ISO 10001 & 10007 standards are maintained.
Work with the Service Delivery Managers to provide trend analysis regarding Configuration items to customers, internal management and the wider business functions
Support the wider delivery of the function through up-to-date Configuration management ideas, skills and experience
Provide input during service design and subsequent service lifecycle
We're looking for somebody that has:
Qualifications / Experience
Demonstrable track record within Service Operations, process improvement and configuration management.
ITIL (v3 or v4) Accreditation specialising around operational Configuration management.
Be able to be cleared to UK SC (5 years UK residency)
Understanding of Cyber Security and Information Governance.
Experience of working within technically complex environments or on a project with multiple participants.
Ability to assimilate information, take decisions and communicate to stakeholders
Experience with Industry leading ITSM tools, ideally ServiceNow
Broad IT background with understanding of multiple technologies and the elements of End to End service
Operational knowledge of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and their delivery.
Understanding of technical trends within the ICT or cyber security industry and how modern technology can be harnessed to enhance the delivery of services.
Must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written), with experience of liaising with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Must be able to demonstrate an ability to manage a team and to prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines are met and achieve targets.
