School Accountant / Business Manager
£250 - £300 per day

This busy local authority is seeking an interim School Accountant / Business Manager to support schools with finance-only responsibilities as part of its increasing service provisions.

Your Role as a School Accountant / Business Manager:-

Provide transactional support, including payments, month-end reconciliation, and VAT submissions.
Deliver strategic analysis of budgets and spending, with reporting to Governing Bodies or Headteachers.
Support schools in developing Deficit Recovery Plans.
Manage and implement new finance systems, offering training as required.Your Previous Experience as a School Accountant / Business Manager:-

Strong understanding of Schools Funding and the ability to engage Heads and Governors with quality data for decision-making.
Expertise in at least one finance system, e.g., ACCESS, RM, or Sims/FMS.
Proficiency in IT, particularly Excel, for data collation and analysis.
Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with senior management.
Attention to detail, clarity in communication (written and oral), and professionalism in difficult situations.
Awareness of national policy affecting school funding.
